Purvis, MS – September 24, 2023 – In a significant decision today, Purvis United Methodist Church has voted to part ways with the United Methodist Church. This disaffiliation was agreed upon by 92% of the congregation during a specially convened church conference.
Following the disaffiliation decision, the congregation also cast their votes in favor (97%) of seeking affiliation with the Global Methodist Church (GMC). This transition is anticipated to be completed by December 9, 2023, after which the church will be recognized as Purvis Methodist Church. The mission of the GM
